      Verdict

      STAR ZINC never figured in the Carlisle Bell but he’d raced with a degree of credit on testing going at Doncaster last autumn and he’s a player here if the cheekpieces work the oracle. Zarabanda raced in Listed company last year, while the jury is out as to whether wind surgery for Lion's Dream has had the desired effect. Jack Daniel reportedly didn’t act on the good going at Doncaster so connections will hope that today’s surface is much more akin to the one at Thirsk where he prevailed on seasonal reappearance. Cariad seeks a first win on the Turf.
