LAS VERGLAS STAR didn't do himself justice on fast ground at York in August but came right back to form on a softer surface at Pontefract last month when Sirvino was almost four lengths behind in third. Runner-up Little Rocky won easily at Bath last week so the form has a solid look about it and Richard Fahey's grey looks to the one to beat again. First Mohican has won both starts to date, albeit two years apart. He had obviously been showing plenty at home before last month's reappearance at Redcar as he went off favourite and a similar showing here will put him in the mix. Art Scholar has a penalty for last week's C&D victory but is having a good season, as is Kalk Bay, while Swynmor was only beaten a short-head on heavy ground at Chester last time though is 3lb higher now. Stand To Reason, Rock A Doodle Doo and Sandusky could all figure if back to their best but are high enough in the weights at present.
