Little strength in depth to this maiden and this looks a good opportunity for Rahaf to finally open his account at the main expense of Ten Carat while Misternando is a lively outsider. Mark Johnston has his team in good form after a slow start to the campaign and Rahaf has shown more than enough ability to land a race of this nature. The son of Theatrical was never in the hunt in the UAE Derby on World Cup day at Nad Al Sheba but had finished placed in all seven previous starts including useful maiden company at Doncaster and York as a juvenile. The three-year-old is expected to score a much needed confidence booster before being stepped back up in class. Ten Carat has shaped like a thorough stayer in both starts to date and put up a particularly encouraging performance when a staying-on fourth behind Medallist over a mile-and-a-half at Salisbury on his recent comeback. Sure to strip fitter for the outing, Amanda Perrett's Grand Lodge colt should prove no pushover while Misternando finished down the field in the same Salisbury maiden but will have benefitted from the experience and should close the gap over this longer trip.
