Verdict

Bob Cowell, who won the 2016 renewal, saddles almost half the seven-strong field this year. Green Door makes a quick reappearance after showing good speed in the early stages at Ascot on Saturday. Ornate was fifth last year when trained by William Haggas and had GOLDREAM back in third when beating Monsieur Joe at Newmarket last month. But nothing separated the pair in a Listed race at York earlier and it may be the turn of Tom Marquand’s mount today. Kyllang Rock ran well in a Group 2 at Goodwood considering he missed the break and is a danger to all if getting away on terms here. The filly Bounce is preferred to Gracious John of the others.
