held up towards rear, never dangerous
slowly away, headway 7f out, ran wide bend, soon beaten
pulled hard, held up, weakened and eased over 2f out
outpaced, smooth headway to join leaders over 3f out, ridden and led over 1f out, driven out
held up, ridden outpaced 4f out, headway over 1f out, kept on one paced
chased leaders, ridden over 2f out, headway over 1f out, every chance inside final furlong, unable to quicken close home
with leader, led 3f out, ridden and headed over 2f out, weakened over 1f out
A tricky race to conclude matters where Libre, Karoake and Desert Royalty all hold claims. Libre is no worldbeater but holds his form fairly well. He seemed to handle nine furlongs well enough at Ayr and although he has the tables to turn on Karoake with a step up in weights and a favourable pull at the weights. Miss Grace had bits and pieces of form on the all-weather but is yet to transfer that ability to the turf. Desert Royalty would have chances on a victory at Windsor and was perhaps a little unlucky in running at Goodwood last time out. Frixos has plenty of questions to answer after a truly shocking performance at Bath last time out.
