After 18 months off, STAKE ACCLAIM won a Newbury handicap in April. He got going too late in a Listed race at Haydock subsequently and finished half-a-length behind last year’s winner Tarboosh but the placings could be reversed today. Kyllang Rock won a similar race on heavy going at Musselburgh last year but has only raced twice since and has a bit to prove on his second start of the campaign. Course and distance winner Peggie Sue has gone of the boil a little and, like Fairy Falcon, has a mountain climb at the weights.
