HANNICEAN is suggested in a handicap where Supercast and Liberally could have their supporters. The selection proved disappointing for Michael Jarvis and left that yard at the end of last season with just a course and distance maiden to his name. He's 9lbs lower than his initial mark and made a pleasing introduction for his new yard which is enjoying a purple patch at present. He's fitted with a tongue strap for the first time and may be able to double his tally. Supercast ran on well to score at Goodwood but a 4lb rise for that success may have taken his mark beyond the ceiling of his ability; nevertheless, he has to be on the short-list. Liberally may need a drop of rain in order to take her chance and has struggled so far this year but she came into her own in the second half of last season and would be of interest if following a similar path. Dear Maurice has been struggling to put his best foot forwards, Pelham Crescent looks high enough in the weights, Red Birr has struggled to retain his form and Gilded Age has a bit to prove. Jeer hasn't won for a long time but is well handicapped and worthy of keen interest, likewise Danehillsundance although he has doubts about the trip and preference is for Hannicean.
