A competitive field but one in which many have a point to prove after relatively listless latest efforts and it may be best to focus upon those who bring good recent form to the Listed table. INTIMATION may have only finished seventh in a hot Newmarket handicap at the Guineas meeting but that was only her fourth start in three seasons for Sir Michael Stoute and she was only beaten three lengths after meeting trouble in running. Her handler is a master with these lightly-raced older types and she gets the vote with the move up to a mile and a quarter also in her favour. The Prescott team has moved through the gears of late and Merritt Island, progressive last term, is expected to improve again at four and an absence from the track is rarely a concern for this yard. Sagaciously and Weetles are interesting as both arrive on the back of a victory, whilst the likes of California and Pamona would surely be involved if they could recapture their best, notably the former who should be all the better for her Goodwood reappearance behind Carnachy.
