Verdict
Whispered Secret, Dawton and Hattington look the three to concentrate on in this beginners chase and the confident vote is given to Dawton. The selection was a good second behind the high-class chase prospect Peruse last time out. That sets the standard in the context of this race and under conditions that suit he is hard to oppose. Whisperd Secret was a fair sort on fast ground over hurdles and although he hails from a top yard and is sure to have been well schooled for this his chasing debut, he was often let down by his jumping over hurdles and with this in mind he looks one to be weary about taking a short price about. Hattington is another worthy of respect on his best hurdles form but it is a bit disconcerting that connections have put a first time visor on this his first try over fences and for that reason he is passed over on this occasion. Of the remainder Scalloway has place claims on his best form but he needs to improve dramatically on what he showed on his first run of the season and for the winner we return to Dawton who stets a fair standard and has experience over the larger obstacles.
