Verdict

Point-to-point winner Award Me An Oscar would not need to be out of the ordinary to make a winning rules debut and is taken to do so at the main expense of Maharaat and Mistified. The selection represents trainer Martin Pipe and the son of Oscar has shown enough between the flags to suggest that he may be good enough at this level. Stablemate Cherrywood showed promise on his debut over course and distance and cannot be ruled out, while Aruba Dam disappointed when last seen but that was on a softer surface than today and she may do better on today's faster ground. Important Boy has had plenty of chances and of more interest may be the Philip Hobbs-trained Maharaat, although he has yet to prove his effectiveness over today's trip. The Seamus Mullins-trained Mistified is entitled to be thereabouts on the pick of his form but Award Me An Oscar could be different class to these and gets the vote to make a winning start to his rules career.
