A good bumper to conclude the card and one where LIEUTENANT MILLER is taken to see off Le Roi Max, and Bardolf. The selection is one of a number of the field representing powerful connections that do well in this sort of contest, and the gelding has the sort of pedigree that suggests that he will be a strong force here. His dam is a sister to smart bumper performer Millers Bay and also related to General Miller, who was good in bumpers and has progressed well when hurdling. All that points to the pick for us here. Le Roi Max should be well prepared and is related to French hurdling winners, while Bardolf is saddled by Alan King, and is another smartly bred sort and should be at home over this trip. Encouragingly, Mr Hudson increased in price at Cheltenham's December 2008 sales and is related to winners, while he has invaluable point-to-point experience that could serve him well on the racecourse proper. As ever, check the market for clues, and we will take Lieutenant Miller to score.
