In depth

Verdict

Not the most competitive of novice chases and Good Company is nominated to overcome the challenge of his main rival Flying Falcon. Jonjo O'Neills' horses have hinted that a resumption of the steady stream of winners that we associate with the yard might not be far away and Good Company is another that can continue the yards resurgence. He appeared a horse of some promise for Christy Roche and made a start to his chasing career in January when the O'Neill yard were enduring their winless spell. Good Company bounced back at Bangor last time, beating a 109 rated rival and could possess too much class if progressing again from that Bangor win. Flying Falcon belatedly opened his chasing account at Chepstow recently. Strictly on ratings he has the beating of Good Company. The manner of his Chepstow victory suggested he needs a trip and while he will relish the conditions, he may be vulnerable against Good Company. It appears a match and Good Company is selected over Flying Falcon.
