The application of eye-shields to BAY CENTRAL has made plenty of difference to the fortunes of Evan Williams' nine-year-old, and having recently made all to win a handicap chase off a mark of 103, connections will be surprised if he can't take advantage of his significantly lower mark over hurdles. Royal Trooper hasn't set the world alight since switching to hurdles but he had enough ability to win five races on the Flat for previous connections. Sarenice has been tried against some hot opposition in the past and this should be a much more realistic assignment for Jimmy Frost's mare. Hawk Gold finally got off the mark with a victory at Plumpton and though that a very moderate contest, the second has gone on to win a handicap at Towcester.
