In depth

Verdict

OSCAR ASCHE (NAP) is bred for chasing so did well to win a maiden hurdle over a trip too short at Ludlow in January. He was later second over this trip at Hereford and can make a winning start over the larger obstacles with any further rain in his favour. Jersey Bean has placed twice over fences, including last time at Uttoxeter, so can’t be ignored. Ellens Way will need to jump better than she did at Warwick in March and Rosserk Abbey also requires further improvement. Putting Green makes his chasing bow having won on the Flat and over hurdles but could find his stamina put under pressure.
