In depth

Verdict

Twice a winner on Tapeta, Compatriot is only a four-year-old but needs to bounce back from a no-show last time. Irish raider Every Chance was third at Tramore on his handicap debut but behind Silver Sea and Rubheira in a novice event here earlier and meets both on worse terms. AKKAPENKO had looked very modest prior to finishing second in an amateurs’ race at Stratford but any further improvement would put him in the firing-line in this low-grade handicap. Rocket Ronnie was back to form when second at Bangor last month but the drop in distance may not be ideal.
