In depth

Verdict

The pointing career of GREGORIAN DIAMOND ended with the gelding having two letters against his name but he showed more on Rules debut when a staying-on third in a Stratford bumper. Beaten four and ten lengths that day, he should improve and the form is the best on offer. Corporal Jackjones, a son of Milan, hasn't been seen since just beating one home on bumper debut in January but is in good hands and should do better. Alan Jones has landed a few gambles in his time so it will be essential to note how Palawan Du Mazet goes in the market on debut in first-time blinkers, especially with Harry Cobden booked for the ride.
