In depth

Verdict

It was soft ground when Restorer won this last year and he hasn’t raced since April. Energia Davos has been off the track even longer but won a Group 3 here at this time last year while Ayrad and Berkshire are both penalised for earlier wins in pattern company. Great Hall and Educate have yet to win outside of handicap company while the progressive three-year-old Baydar has notched-up four straight wins in handicaps including a defeat of MASTER THE WORLD at Sandown in August. But the latter was conceding plenty of weight on that occasion and David Elsworth’s charge may prove a bit of value as he returns to 1m2f.
