Verdict
PICENO is officially 6lbs well-in under a penalty and gets the vote to go in again under Kieren Fallon. Luca Cumani's colt romped to a five-length success on soft ground at Salisbury when allowed to dictate matters but his improvement probably stemmed as much from the step up in trip as the chance in tactics. Whatever the reason, we know he's well-treated and copes with conditions, so he gets the vote from the promising Kalahaag. This one caught the eye on debut before winning what looked a decent Goodwood maiden and she could be anything, but an opening mark of 81 offers little room for manoeuvre and this is set to be a very different test with cut likely. Similar concerns surround Tinkertown whose victory came on extremely quick ground while Askaud's maiden form may be slightly misleading and she too is taken on under softer conditions.
