John Gosden has won the last two runnings though Al Rufaa’s winning streak run came to end in soft going at Haydock and he’s going beyond a mile for the first time. The progressive Tempus has already beaten the likes of Walhaan, King Carney and Afaak but is penalised for winning at Ascot while John Smith’s Cup winner Sinjaari is raised 8lb having beaten Certain Lad and Fifth Position at York, though is still preferred to Ilaraab and Montatham of the Haggas trio. The latter beat Sir Busker at York while Derevo went close over 1m2f at Doncaster last time. Lucander also drops down in trip while Bell Rock is less exposed than stablemate and last year’s third Good Birthday. Marcus Tregoning has won this twice with Bronze Angel in the last decade and POWER OF DARKNESS had a spin over track and trip on his reappearance.
