In depth

Verdict

The four-year-old Ejtilaab won for Roger Varian at Doncaster last year but that form hasn’t worked out and he’s having a first run for a new yard today. Stepney Causeway has been gelded since scoring at Chelmsford in the autumn and makes more appeal but he also shoulders a penalty. Epic Endeavour made a promising start at Lingfield but Roger Charlton has probably sourced a decent opportunity for The Queen’s colt EVENING SUN (NAP), who did finish second here in October despite being too green to do himself proper justice.
