Plenty of recent winners in the line-up and this looks very competitive; preference is for PRINCE ROSSI who is taken to defy a 4lb rise in the weights for a recent Chepstow win. The selection was given a fine ride last time out when he cut across from a wide draw to make all the running on a near side rail. Eddie Ahern takes the ride again and he can record his third win on this hardy gelding. Carlos Spirit was a winner here last time out and he is an obvious contender despite his big weight, as is Addwaitya who looks a moderately progressive four-year-old. Hawk's Eye is yet to win but the first-time cheek-pieces that were on last time at the track remain in place and he cannot be ignored. Sonny Parkin is a multiple course and distance winner and he has a 4lb rise in the weights for his recent win; all five of his wins have come in the visor which remains on (has been taken off before) and he rates a big threat. King Columbo and Magnitude are capable of better, whilst Dancing Jest is one of many pace angles in the race and she will make sure they all go with stamina assured (dropping in trip today). This looks very competitive but it is Prince Rossi who is given the narrow vote.
