In depth

Verdict

A tricky finale that may go to the bottom-weight Twofan, with Dovedon Hero and The Ring put forward as the main dangers. Mark Johnston's colt is given another chance after running too freely when well beaten behind Quedex at Sandown last time. That was a much better contest and against mainly out of form rivals today looks to hold very strong claims. The Ring has shown his best form over two miles but should still be capable of landing a blow over this shorter trip. His course effort behind Valance earlier this month makes quite good reading in the context of this race. Dovedon Hero has struggled over a mile and half recently and will be much more at home over this trip. Of the others Weet For Me showed improved form last time and could also figure in the finish, however Twofan is still on an attractive mark and can land the spoils.
