      Verdict

Most of these have been hard to win with this term and it is a race full of pitfalls for finding a reliable selection. However, Learned Lad is holding his form well at present and deserves a change of fortune. The consistent Eton along with Lord Eurolink and Leatherback are others who arrive here with a similar profile though and will not make it easy for the Jamie Poulton-trained selection. But Learned Lad has the resolution required to forge on in a race of this nature and he will be difficult to keep tabs with if he is on the pace inside the final furlong. He is also well handicapped on the pick of his form and should make a bold bid to gain some compensation for some near misses of late.
