GRAND BAZAAR gets another chance having failed to threaten in a tougher handicap at Ascot last time. He’d gone close at the same track before that and should have the measure of these. Kaloor is struggling for form and is fitted with additional headgear while it was soft ground when Hawridge Flyer was narrowly beaten on the July course here last month. Maiden winner Ridgeway is the least exposed and may prove the main danger back on fast going for his handicap debut.
Kaloor 8-1 (9-11) Soon steadied into mid-division and raced wide, chased leaders and ridden inside final 3f, weakened over 1f out, eased, 10th of 12, 11 1/2l behind Seinesational (9-4) at Sandown 1m 6f hcp (3) gd in Aug.
Grand Bazaar 7-1 (9-2) Shade keen tracking leader until approaching halfway, handy 3rd, went 2nd again and every chance 2f out, ridden and lost 2nd over 1f out, weakened inside final furlong, 5th of 10, 6l behind Shandoz (9-0) at Ascot 1m 4f hcp stks (2) gd in Sep.
Ridgeway (FR) 10-3 (9-7) Reared leaving stalls, raced keenly, led over 8f out, headed 2f out, weakened from over 1f out, 7th of 8, 18 1/4l behind Crystal Pegasus (9-2) at Bath 1m 2f stks (5) gs in Aug.
Hawridge Flyer 10-3 (9-12) Took keen hold in touch, headway on outside to track leader on back straight, ridden along 3f out and lost position, beaten entering final furlong, 7th of 11, 16 1/2l behind Billy No Mates (9-11) at Haydock 1m 6f hcp (5) sft in Sep.
