In depth

Verdict

Not the strongest of Newmarket maidens and a slight TEAMtalk preference goes to the once-raced Wondrous Joy who shaped up nicely in a falsely run race at Salisbury where despite starting slowly and racing on the wrong side still managed to to get within five lengths of the winner. She is taken to improve on that effort and may prove hard to beat. Tease is the most exposed of these runners and has some useful form to her name but her lack of finishing speed means she may have to settle for minor honours. Swiftmix has been highly tried on her first two starts suggesting connections rate her highly. She showed signs of greeness on both her starts but may ready to give a proper account of herself. Chaffinch is a well-bred filly and comes from an in-form yard. Market support for this daughter of Lear Fan will speak volumes for her chances and has Richard Hughes on board. John Gosden always does well in these sort of races and his stable is firing at present. He is represented by Echoes In Eternity and Felicity with the jockey booking suggesting the former holds the best chance.
