        Verdict

        SOUTHDOWN LAD was unable to prevent Bathos landing a four-timer over a mile here last time but stayed the trip well enough and is just preferred to the four recent maiden winners. Four On Eight may prove best of those on his cosy win at Windsor but Laafiraaq should go also get involved after romping home at Hamilton last month. Nice Future and Rio's Cliffs will need to dig deeper while Swift Response never threatened at Ripon on his handicap debut and Walsingham Grange posted a poor effort at Yarmouth when handicapping for the first time.
