Verdict

Mark Johnston won this with a 33/1 chance last year so don't be surprised by a big run from Bowdler's Magic, who is just 1lb higher than when scoring at Yarmouth in September and has been busy over hurdles. The stable also run Hurricane Higgins and he's the type to be suited by this trip. SPICE FAIR scored over 2m at Kempton in October and was an unfortunate loser on his reappearance at Goodwood where he couldn't get a clear run. He's been put up 4lb, which won't help matters, but can gain compensation. High Jinx has had very little experience but has done well over shorter trips and his pedigree suggests this will be ideal. Midsummer Sun was a very disappointing odds-on favourite at Ripon after an earlier success at Lingfield though it may have been the soft ground that was responsible for the poor effort.
