This is easily the best two-year-old race to be run this term so far with all seven of the 10 runners to have raced previously with at least one win to their names and experience is likely to be the key with marginal preference for Gilded ahead of Stir Crazy and Il Palio. The last mentioned is closely matched with Urban Warrior on their running at Kempton last month. Mark Wallace's Southwell winner Chief Editor would probably want a softer surface being by Tomba, while Love In May is likely to find this tougher than the race that he won at Lingfield. Resignation looks the pick of the three newcomers although a bigger threat is likely to come from Mick Channon's Stir Crazy, who stepped up on his debut effort when opening his account at Lingfield last time. The vote though goes to Gilded, who improved dramatically on his debut run behind Il Palio when winning at Warwick two weeks ago and is taken to reverse earlier form and follow up that success.
