With the ground likely to be too soft for the once-raced unbeaten fillies Cherokee and Fen Shui this is probably best left to Sir Michael Stoute's Shanghai Lily, who is preferred to the consistent Maids Causeway. The last mentioned has done little wrong all season including when runner-up in the Group 1 Fillies' Mile at Ascot last month when having, among others, Marcus Tregoning's Shohrah behind. Mick Channon's Bibury Flyer has been similarly busy this term but needs to improve again to take a hand in this company and of more interest may be Ralph Beckett's Penkenna Princess. The daughter of Pivotal has shown improved form of late and should have little difficulty in handling the testing conditions. Nerys Dutfield's Lowther third Spirit of Chester is worthy of a mention stepping up in trip but Shanghai Lily has looked potentially top class in two starts so far and gets the vote. Sir Michael Stoute's filly made an impressive winning debut when landing a Newbury maiden in August and followed up in convincing fashion on a return visit to the venue the following month in a conditions race. This represents a step up in class for the daughter of the stable's 2,000 Guineas winner King's Best but she is expected to take that in her stride.
