    Verdict

    Luhaif's close-up third to Olympic Glory in the Group 2 Vintage Stakes at Goodwood was a cracking effort but it may not pay to take the form at face value as he hadn't shown the same zest in five previous outings. Ask Dad just scrambled home in a Salisbury maiden last time so we'll concentrate on the two once-raced colts in this with AL WAAB preferred to Timoneer. Both ran green on their respective debuts over C&D and can only improve but the Cecil juvenile was slightly more impressive and will have to show up well in this if he's to justify some fancy entries in the autumn.
