A highly competitive Showcase Handicap, but Moten Swing is definitely one for the shortlist. The jockey bookings suggest he is the pick of Richard Hannon's trio, and his third at Kempton on his reappearance was a very pleasing effort which suggests he is more than capable of a bold show here. Despite topweight, Eastern Image will have his supporters. Winner at Pontefract and Redcar on his last two starts, he looks to have scope but there is a slight doubt as to whether he will be as effective on this quicker surface. Ballybunion won here last year and will not mind fast ground. Paul Cole has a good record at this meeting and the booking of Jamie Spencer catches the eye. Pentecost and Historic Treble are others to consider, but a bigger threat could be Prince Hector, who won his made a shade cosily over course and distance and may be starting the season on a favourable mark.
