      Verdict

      Power of Darkness hasn’t had much racing in the last couple of years but retains some ability. Other have more scope, however, including the progressive front-runner Variyann who has won four of 13 career starts. Hydros is sure to strip fitter for his third here last month and makes his handicap debut but stablemate THIBAAN did nothing but improve in the first half of the year and had a bit in hand when scoring at Haydock last time. Maxi Boy may have been flattered by his proximity to Quintillus here last Saturday.
