        Verdict

        New Pursuit won a small race at Epsom on debut and Ray Dawson’s claim halves his penalty. Amazon Prince was only beaten a neck over this trip at Redcar but FIRTH OF CLYDE could make it third-time lucky as he had to wait for a gap at Epsom and the winner had flown by the time he saw daylight. Better would have been expected from Nietzsche's Star at Ascot but he will have to reverse that form with subsequent Newcastle third Haunted Dream. Tatsumaki and the Dark Angel filly Risk Averse, a half-sister to two winners, are among the newcomers worth a market check.
