Shaheen is upped in class after scoring at Doncaster but is still improving but Arzaak will find this tougher than when scoring at Brighton last month. Midsummer Knight has been thereabouts of late but in his own age group while William Buick stays loyal to Leo Minor having won over track and trip a fortnight ago. Third-paced SHAMSHON has some improving to do to reverse running with the latter but re-opposes on better terms and given he won last year’s renewal off a 7lb higher mark, Stuart Williams’ charge could make another bold bid with an apprentice’s allowance further helping his cause. Gracious John and Duke Of Firenze are both capable at this level with the latter preferred having slipped down the weights this year.
Gracious John (IRE) 11-2 (9-12) Led on rail, ridden and headed over 1f out, weakened inside final furlong, 5th of 6, 6l behind Ice Age (10-0) at Windsor 6f hcp (2) gf in Jul.
Duke Of Firenze 12-1 (9-9) Held up, 12th halfway, no impression when squeezed for room 1f out, soon no extra, last of 17, 7 3/4l behind Battle Of Jericho (8-13) at Curragh 5f hcp gf in Jun.
Leo Minor (USA) 8-1 (9-11) Settled in rear, smooth headway over 1f out, soon switched right to challenge, ridden to lead inside final furlong, ran on well, won at Newmarket 5f hcp (4) gf in Jun beating Jashma (9-2) by 1 3/4l, 7 ran.
Outrage 66-1 (9-2) Dwelt, in rear, ridden and headway over 1f out, kept on inside final furlong, never nearer, 9th of 13, 6 3/4l behind Solar Flair (9-10) at Newcastle 6f hcp (2) pol in Jun.
Arzaak (IRE) 11-4 (9-13) Taken to post early, close up in rear, headway over 1f out, led inside final furlong, soon joined, ridden and all out, won at Brighton 5f hcp (4) gf in Jun beating Jack Taylor (9-3) by shd, 5 ran.

Midsummer Knight 11-4 (8-11) Led, ridden over 1f out, kept on, headed towards finish, 2nd of 6, 1/2l behind Roundhay Park (9-7) at Ripon 5f hcp (3) gd in Jun.
