      Verdict

      Barsanti was no match for Crystal Ocean in the Hardwicke at Ascot last month but meets nothing of that calibre here. Best Solution found last year’s winner Hawkbill too good in the Sheema Classic at Meydan when last in action but is not out of this while Duretto finished in front of last year’s third Algometer over a longer trip at York last time. Jim Crowley sticks with Laraaib despite the latter finishing behind Muntahaa in the Wolferton where Mirage Dancer ran into trouble. The latter is closely matched with Barsanti on earlier running and should figure with a clear run but a chance is taken on RAA ATOLL. John Gosden’s three-year-old showed further progress in a Group 2 at Ascot when finishing just behind third-placed Giuseppe Garibaldi and could go close getting plenty of weight from the older horses today.
