Verdict

This prize has gone back to Ballydoyle on four of the last seven occasions but Wembley and St Mark's Basilica filled the places behind the unbeaten THUNDER MOON (NAP) at the Curragh last month. Joseph O’Brien’s colt flew home in the Group 1 National Stakes once getting a clear run and is also preferred to compatriots Cadillac, a Group 2 winner at Leopardstown, and the maiden winner Poetic Flare. Chindit is also unbeaten and arrives with every chance having landed the Champagne Stakes at Doncaster from Albasheer with Devious Company well beaten. Jim Crowley abandons Albasheer for the supplemented Alkumait, who beat Fivethousandtoone and Devilwala to win the Mill Reef at Newbury and attempts 7f for the first time along with Tactical. Etonian won the Solario at Sandown but Pat Dobbs sticks with Chindit while Decisive Edge is a novice winner.
