The usual cavalry charge in which practically all merit a mention but intriguing to see two three-year-olds join the fray. Having landed the Britannia at Royal Ascot, Marcus Tregoning drops Perotto back to 7f, whilst the Gosdens have campaigned Fundamental exclusively at this trip after landing a mile conditions stakes on reappearance. By contrast, the cleverly-placed Ametist has run only at 7f and is now on a mark of 93 after completing his four-timer here last month. It would be folly to leave him out of calculations. National League and Kimifive could be involved at the foot of the weights but MOTAKHAYYEL ran a fine race here a fortnight ago in the Criterion Stakes when runner-up and might just have the class to defy his burden and repeat last year's success.
