Ittirad didn't stay 2m in the Queen's Vase last time but could easily return to winning ways back over this shorter trip if Roger Varian allows him to take his chance. It would be no surprise to see Becausewecan bounce back after a couple of modest efforts now the handicapper has eased him a little, while Porgy is holding his form well. Spifer tries 1m4f for the first time and is probably a bit better than he showed on his handicap debut at Kempton but more interesting is MAGICALMYSTERYTOUR. Willie Musson's eight-year-old holds no secrets from the assessor but now races off a lower mark than when successful over C&D in August and he stayed on nicely to finish second at Windsor last time from an impossible position - he earns the vote in this finale.
