Lord Kintyre is the choice to land the finale at the main expense of Twilight Mistress, Proud Native and Brave Burt. Rod Millman's charge ended a long losing sequence when coming out on top in a thrilling finish to a similar contest at Salisbury late last month in which Twilight Mistress finished a close third. The race was run in a fast time and, despite being 3lb higher, Lord Kintyre can confirm the placings under Steve Drowne. Brave Burt landed this event twelve months ago but hasn't been in the best of form this term and remains on a stiff mark so is reluctantly passed over on this occasion. The latter's stablemate, Proud Native, has been running at a lower level of late, and may prove vulnerable in this company while Roses Of Spring is better than she showed at Chester last time when not getting the clearest of runs but Lord Kintyre looks worth following with his confidence high at present.
