Nonrunner

In depth

Verdict

SHANTARAM will be at very prohibitive odds here after his third successive second place, beaten less than a length, in Lingfield's Group 3 Derby Trial. The winner was none other than Main Sequence, runner-up to Camelot in the Derby, so John Gosden charge looks home and hosed in this maiden. It's impossible to see a danger on that form but Black Mascara is a progressive filly who can reach a place while Dave Simcock's newcomer White Nile is a 215,000 euros son of Galileo who is related to several useful winners and is worth keeping an eye on.
