Last year’s winner VILLE DE GRACE was having a first run since May when just failing to win a Listed race at Yarmouth last month for the second year running. On slightly more favourable terms, she may reverse that form with winner Shaara. State Occasion has been very progressive in handicaps this year but, along with Achelois, was behind Via Sistina at this meeting last year. Sweet Believer was only eighth in this 12 months ago but Kawida has been keeping good company this season while Peripatetic has been in good form over longer trips. Creative Flair has won at a higher level but has only run once since January.
