Verdict

Green Team never threatened in the Queen’s Vase at Ascot and probably won’t be suited by a drop in distance. Al Qareem set a strong pace in that contest until headed 2f out by ZECHARIAH, who was caught right on the line by the well-backed Eldar Eldorov. The Meades’ colt beat Irish Derby winner Westover on his final start as a two-year-old and looks to be back in that kind of form. Masekela is the danger as he was doing his best work at the finish when fourth in the Derby so the extra furlong shouldn’t be a problem while Walk Of Stars clearly wasn’t at his best when last at Epsom. Deauville Legend was just beaten in the King George V Stakes at Ascot but needs improvement to figure.
