Thirteen fillies line up for the 1,000 Guineas, and from our short listed four Flashy Wings, Nannina, Rumplestiltskin and, maybe, Silca's Sister, we will opt for Flashy Wings. Last year's Queen Mary and Lowther Stakes winner, the selection rounded off her campaign with a very good third, beaten two necks, behind Donna Blini and Wake Up Maggie in the Cheveley Park Stakes. Of course, on form that gives the other pair at least the equal of her chance today, and they are respected, but we are inclined to stick with Mick Channon's filly. The Moyglare Stakes winner Rumplestiltskin had Confidential Lady behind her when she then won the Prix Marcel Boussac, and she gets a very good mention, while La Chunga has a length and two pounds to find with Flashy Wings based on Lowther form. Nannina closed off her juvenile season with a battling victory in the Group 1 Fillies' Mile, in which she finished three lengths ahead of Nasheej, who proved her wellbeing by taking the Fred Darling at Newbury on her return. They are both very useful at least. Along with Rumplestiltskin, Aidan O'Brien also runs Race For The Stars, but Kieren Fallon has opted for the Marcel Boussac winner, while Silca's Sister's Prix Morny second means that her chance is not a forlorn one. Finally, Alexander Alliance is less exposed than most of these and could go well at a bigger price, and Speciosa holds Spinning Queen based on Nell Gwyn form, but neither look quite up to winning today. One that does, though, is Flashy Wings, who gets our vote.
