        Verdict

        The $1.3m yearling SCHUBERT went to Naas last week for one of the hottest maidens seen in Ireland this season and though he could only finish fourth he looked very inexperienced and the run will have brought him on considerably. He should improve enough to take this and still has Dewhurst and Racing Post Trophy entries. Bluebeard has the experience and though no match for the odds-on Perkunas at Brighton he had the remainder a long way behind. Carntop is bred for middle-distances and should do better next season while Long Call couldn't handle soft going at Goodwood last week and finished last. Weather Front missed the break at Wolverhampton but stayed on strongly and should appreciate this track.
