A fiercely competitive finale and stakes are advised to be kept to a minimum. Silken Brief is the least exposed in the line up and therefore capable of most improvement having made a belated winning reappearance in a Windsor maiden last month. However, this represents a much stiffer task taking on battle-hardened and experienced handicappers so is passed over on this occasion. Blue Star has proved a model of consistency of late and gained a deserved victory last time at York but appears better on a faster surface while recent Sandown winner Material Witness looks high enough at the weights at present. African Sahara and Looking For Love have held their form well of late and should go close but a very tentative TEAMtalk vote goes to Social Contract. Sylvester Kirk's charge comes here in top form having finished a close second of 20 in a competitive claimer over this trip at Doncaster last week. With ground conditions to suit, the five-year-old can take advantage of a low weight and reward each-way backers.
