This looks one of the most open 1000 Guineas for many years with any number having reasonable claims on their best form. Hooray was the outstanding juvenile filly of 2010, beating MAQAASID into third place in the Cheveley Park Stakes here in the autumn having earlier had the same rival back in fourth when successful in the Lowther Stakes at York. Her breeding suggests she will stay the extra here but this is her first try beyond 6f so John Gosden's daughter of Green Desert could be the value today. She looked a very unlucky loser when third to the supplemented Barefoot Lady in the Nell Gwyn last month and has clearly trained on. Memory has been well touted for this but finished well beaten behind Misty For Me, Laughing Lashes and Together in the Moyglare Stud Stakes at the Curragh in August and doesn't have the same scope as Havant, who won the Oh So Sharp Stakes here in October on only her second start and will be suited by a mile this year. Freddie Head's Moonlight Cloud won a Group 3 at Maisons-Lafitte on her reappearance and looks the best of the French raiders, but Godolphin's Blue Bunting will probably shine over longer trips later in the year and may be worth opposing on this occasion.
