Fashionable absolutely bolted up in the Wood Ditton Stakes last time and will probably be a short price to win here, but we are going to take a chance on Almendrados, with Brecon looking best of the rest. The Jeremy Noseda-trained selection only finished ninth on her seasonal return, but that effort came in the Nell Gwyn Stakes, and she ran better than her finishing position might suggest. A good-looking filly, she stayed on well late in the day and, sure to appreciate the step up in trip, can go well in this contest. Fashionable's Wood Ditton win was, as we say, very eyecatching and, even though the form of that race has yet to be strongly franked, she can be expected to give a good account of herself. Of the others, last season's Zetland Stakes fourth, Brecon, has displayed decent form but Basserah looks the weaker of the two Barry Hills entries and Desert Move was disappointing on her return. However, in the Pretty Polly Stakes, overall, the vote goes to Almendrados.
