GINGER TED deserves a change of fortune and gets the nod for a speculative punt in the finale. Dubai Hills was well behind the selection when they met at Ayr in July, so has a bit to find on a literal reading of that effort. It's true to say he might have been in need of the run on that occasion and can expected to pose a stiffer challenge today. But he lacks consistency so a bigger threat is posed by Bonnie Prince Blue, who has been banging on the door lately. However, he has also been very costly to follow and his long-standing supporters may be running out of patience. Revue Princess won a fillies' only handicap earlier in the month and, as she copes with a bit of give underfoot, Tim Easterby's five-year-old is also rated as a big threat here. A strong pace would suit Northern Bolt, who can also play a part if he gets the breaks in running - a bold effort from Danum Dancer (runs 4.30) would give a tenuous boost to his claims in the form book. However, perseverance is the name of the game with horses like Ginger Ted, who found life tough after a successful spell at the start of the season. Still, the three-year-old is a consistent individual and given his liking for a rain-soaked surface; the Richard Guest-trained gelding is a worthy option in the lucky last.
