In depth

Verdict

Camelot Tales is penalised for winning at Redcar on his reappearance and that hands the advantage to FIRST LIGHT. The latter found one too good over a mile on last year’s debut but is bred for middle-distances. Roger Varian runs two but King Francis ran poorly here on his reappearance and Mushirif was well beaten at Nottingham on last year’s debut. Moktasaab has undergone wind surgery since placing at Salisbury in October and John Leeper steps up from 7f on his return. Earth Giant is related to a winner in France and may prove best of the newcomers.
