      Verdict

      CARTWRIGHT hacked up in an apprentices’ race at Pontefract last week. Only 2lb higher in the ratings today for earlier efforts, Sir Mark Prescott’s charge will likely face a hefty hike in the weights after this and can take advantage. Clear Evidence won over 2m at Goodwood before finding a step up in class beyond him and will be more at home in this grade. Snowy Dawn is another dropping back down in class but the remainder look exposed now and it’s difficult to see them troubling the selection.
